Summary

An original Stalker route article explaining how to think about Backstab and ASPD normal attack choices.

Best for

Stalker players deciding their first serious route or comparing PvE and PvP comfort.

Our take

Backstab and ASPD Stalker solve different problems. Choose by play pattern before choosing by headline strength.

Two routes, two rhythms

Backstab and ASPD normal attack Stalker are not minor variations of the same idea. Backstab asks you to care about openings, positioning, and timing. ASPD normal attack routes usually feel more continuous, with value coming from uptime and pressure. The right choice depends on which rhythm feels natural to you.

If you enjoy setting up burst moments and punishing exposed targets, Backstab may be attractive. If you prefer steadier pressure and a simpler combat loop, ASPD may feel more comfortable. Neither answer is automatically correct for every ROOC account.

PvP changes the question

In PvP, Stalker value is tied to disruption and decision-making. A route that performs well against passive targets can feel different when enemies kite, peel, or punish your approach. Backstab needs access and timing. ASPD needs uptime and enough durability to stay active. Watch Stalker videos for how the player creates those conditions.

Do not judge a route only by a clean clip. Ask what happens when the first engage fails, when support is missing, or when the enemy team recognizes your pattern. That is where route comfort starts to matter.

How to choose safely

Start with a broad Stalker guide, then compare Backstab-specific and route-comparison pages. If both routes look interesting, test the play pattern before buying into expensive upgrades. Your goal is to find the route you can repeat every day, not the one that looks best in a single scene.

For F2P players, route discipline is especially important. Switching between Backstab and ASPD too often can scatter materials and delay real progress. Pick the style that fits your content, then refine it slowly.

A good Stalker choice should make your daily play easier, not only your best clip stronger. If Backstab makes you hesitate in live fights, ASPD may be more practical. If steady attacks feel too passive, Backstab may give the agency you want.
